NRA Basic Pistol

This course will give you the knowledge, skills and attitude required to safely handle handguns. Meets the requirements for a Montana Concealed Carry Permit.

The course is designed to teach the basics of pistol marksmanship. You will learn the functions of the different kinds of handguns and ammunition. The course emphasizes firearms safety while teaching the techniques of sight alignment, breath, hold, and trigger control.

This 10 hour course offers a solid base upon which a student can safely build their shooting skills and includes two hours of shooting time on the range. All course materials including targets will be provided. A firearm can also be loaned to you if needed. Ammunition is extra. A certificate of training will be awarded to all participants who successfully complete the course .

Basic Pistol is a prerequisite for the NRA Personal Protection course.

This course meets the requirements for a concealed weapons permit in Montana and 22 other states.

What you need to bring:
Your handgun
200 rounds of ammo
Eye and ear protection

Bring a lunch and something to drink. We take only a short break to eat between the morning classroom session and the afternoon range time.

Cost: $70 NRA textbook and certificate included.


You may also schedule a private lesson with up to four students.  The private lesson is $400.
